Top Anime About Gambling

Who would have thought that anime and casino can make a good combination?

No one, I know!

These two hobbies, of some sort, are really different.

And the groups of people that rea interested in them are different as well.

So, what is the thing that connects them?

Casino-based anime!

For those of you who dot know, anime is a hand-drawn animation film originating from Japan.

It’s very popular in the last couple of years, and, as we are about to explain, it is a perfect match for the casino universe.

Here are some of the best animes whose theme evolves around gambling!

Kakegurui (Compulsive Gambler)

This isn’t the classic anime that you have hers of.

Nor it is the classic gambling movie that you can find anywhere.

Kakegurui tells the story of a young girl named Yumeko Jabami who loves gambling of fun.

And even though she is way too young for that, she prefers it as her hobby.

And when the Hyakkaou Private Academy looks for a new transfer student, Yumeko will be it!

Except that she will become a complete nightmare to the school because of her gambling skills. 

Akagi

This anime exists as manga as well, and its full anime is ‘Akagi: Yami ni Oritatta Tensai’.

When you translate it, it literally says ‘Akagi: The Genius Who Descended Into Darkness’.

Pretty cool, right?

The story starts with Nangou, a small-time gambler who is about to lose everything to a yakuza gambler.

In a  game of Mahjong.

And this is where the famous Akagi comes in.

Running from the police, he hides and is playing against the yakuza gambler.

In the meantime, he meets Nangou and frees him at the same time, and then…

Well, you better watch it and see where it will take you! 

Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor

Actually, the original name of the manga is Tobaku Mokushiroku Kaiji, but the anime has shortened it to just Kaiji

. If you translate the original name, it says ‘Gambling apocalypse Kaiji’, and that’s where the fun starts!

Kaiji as the main character has a lot of problems regarding his personal life and decided to move to Tokyo.

All he wants is a fresh start.

But, things start to get worse as he tries to help his friend benign in debt to the yakuza gamblers.

He gets to gamble aggressively, and soon learns the pros (and cons) of the gambling world.

Where will Kaiij end up, its for you to watch and witness for yourself! 

These are only a very few animes out of them all.

And they can be blended with pretty much any theme that you can possibly think of.

But, the casino-related animes are legendary.

These are only a small example of what’s out there.
